Hi I wonder if someone can help me with my surface BIOS password.
My platform is Microsoft Surface Pro 3, S/N: 002641152753
I have downloaded many versions of flash programming tool but none of them worked.
Therefore I am unable to dump my BIOS into bin file.
Can anyone provide me with a working version of the tool?
          Thanks so much.

no S:N or anything, cant seem to find any info on how to edit or any videos on YouTube showing how to do it.

Hello, I have posted a reply to another thread about the Surface Pro 3 BIOS, asking for help to get my BIOS unlocked. I have not gotten a reply in almost a week, so I decided to come to this thread instead since it is more recently active.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I am on a Surface Pro 3 and trying to change my OS from ChromeOS Flex (Linux-based) to another Linux distro (ZorinOS in this case). However, to do so, my BIOS needs to be unlocked. I have been stuck on ChromeOS Flex since July 2023, completely unable to switch no matter what methods I have tried.

Here is some info about my Surface Pro 3 if it helps at all:
                          Model: Surface Pro 3 128GB 4GB RAM i5
                          Current OS: ChromeOS Flex (Linux)
                          Serial Number: 035152552953
                          BIOS Version: 2.16.1243 AMI

I have tried installing Okteta (HxD alternative for Linux); however, I have no idea where to get my BIOS dump file. I have read many forums to find an answer, but nothing has worked.

Read BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools and you'll figure out how to dump your bios. Without it NOBODY can help you, maybe the previous owner who set the password.

I appreciate your reply. I have read that guide multiple times, yet I only understood that I need an external programmer to be able to proceed. Is that true? Is there any other way get the BIOS dump file?

If there were another way be sure you would have found it in Guide.

I've spent a considerable amount of time going through the guide, but I haven't found any solutions for Linux. Additionally, Linux hasn't been mentioned at all in this entire thread. I'm completely lost.

logical conclusion: there is NOT another way but to read bios chipset!

Yeah, unfortunately. ChromeOS Flex is extremely limiting, biggest regret was switching to it.

Hi Strikerinary, I'm new to this as well, but it sounds like one of your regrets is installing Chrome flex. You can always recover windows from flex by using a recovery disc downloaded directly from microsoft. You will need a windows machine to burn the USB, though. Here is the link with download and instructions. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...recovery-image
