Hello everyone. So ATI card failed on it. Looking to disable it. I have attached my bios dump, so if anyone could mod my bios so I could disable it. I would very much appreciate it. Thanks

Disabling the GPU should be done in hardware. Not all boards can be disabled.

Im completely aware of that, but sometimes theres an option in bios to disable switchable graphics, so it wouldn load the driver and freeze. And sometimes that option is not there. But thanks for reply. What about disabling the power supply on the board for GPU? Would it still boot?

        where you got stuck ?
on OS or before loading OS ?
if you have problem with the driver, try to install legacy mode, not UEFI.

In the OS, boots up fine, well, fineish, takes bit extra to post, but if driver is present, as soon as it gets initiated I get a black screen. No driver, no problem. So in my mind, no gpu=no driver to load=no problem. I will try legacy mode on monday. Thanks again

Well. Putting it in legacy mode gives me a black screen, and requires removal of bios IC and reflashing. Any more ideas?

Alienware 13R3 bios mod request - to disable dedicated graphics (dgpu failure)
              by Mr.Ultimate
Hi everyone, hope to get someone to help and modify bios rom for me.
I need to disable dedicated nvidia graphics chip permanently.

GPU chip had failed(cracked silicon DIE) and I can only use laptop without failing if I disable nvidia graphics in dev manager (but it still draws power from battery and generates thermal signature.

Ideally if it was disabled from bios at preboot.

I believe it is possible, because if I attatch external alienware graphics amplifier , laptop at boot will disable dedicated graphics #1 (failed one) and will only boot with AGA...

              ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
              by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
              Some issues
              A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

              Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
              by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
              by Wahaz
              Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
              1. I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
              2. I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
              3. I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this
