Surface 4 Pro UEFI Password - How to Remove?

Hello there, i have a surface 4 pro with forgotten uefi Password. How can i remove it? I'm a noob at this point so please explain (also directly on PN possible) what to do. ive read some threads here and now tried to extract a dump of my bios with Intel fpt but with no success (Error 316). I also tried the hibernate trick with no success.

You have a bin file 16mb?if yes post here i try remove.

here is your dump with clean bios.but i am not sure if it wil keep the motherbord serial,uuid..

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have tried without the -BIOS before and it complained it couldn't read that flash area or something to that affect.

I believe after writing to another member here with the same issue, that iamromroni is correct and the only way to get the full dump is to open up the tablet and read it using a physical programmer.

However, the Surface Pro 4 from what I've read is extremely difficult and time-consuming to get into without damaging it, so I'm not willing to go that far as long as my Windows is still working. I appreciate your assistance in trying to resolve this issue. This is a great forum!

not only do you have to open the surface (which is a chore), but you have to remove the chip because it's WSON style and cannot be connected in situ.

at any rate, I have a cleaned dump for surface pro 4 from a previous job, and i'm currently trying to find a way (using software) to flash this clean dump instead of opening this one up and pulling the chip.

FWIW, using the ROL securebootdebug policy, i've been able to launch an EFI shell. i can't seem to figure a way to flash the eeprom from the EFI shell, and MS doesn't offer an EFI firmware update utility like many other vendors do.

No, I never got anywhere with it as far as unlocking the BIOS. Other than that it worked fine in Windows, but I ended up not using it very much and sold it to someone else on eBay.

The BIOS is pretty limited in settings you can adjust anyway on those devices. So you aren't missing much even if you are locked out of it, basically just secure boot. I think if I get another device in the future it will be a regular laptop.

hellow friend , i have an isue with my surface pro 4 wich i did format all the partition and now it wont boot to any system neither will it boot from a pen drive but insted goes to the uefi wich is protected with a password i dont know, any help plz
