existing bios was corrupted. replacement bios worked fine, but had to copy windows licensing info over. unfortunately I haven't spent much time working with PC laptop bios, not since modding SLIC tables for win7 activation heh

board view for 2019 lenovo X1 carbon 7th gen NM-C661
hello all,
I have a brand new X1 carbon 7th gen and i'm looking for a board view, the board says GX490 NM-C661 r1.0
the laptop had SVP, but no bios settings were inaccessible. we removed the bottom lid and apparently tamper protection was turned on. the laptop will not boot past the tamper error and SVP prompt, and SVP is unknown.
i can remove SVP on all lenovo prior to this model, but this model has WSON8 bios chip not SOIC8, so i cannot connect my programmer. i lack the equipment/skills to pull the chip (i do have hot air station, but i'm better at... -
need UC5 and UT6 for dell 5480 LA-E081P non-Vpro
I have a non-booting dell latitude 5480 with board LA-E081P rev2.0
service tag is H9FMBH2
i have non vpro firmware but CS was loose on programmer and original read of UC5 bios chip was bad. i have backup of UT6 chip (attached) but it's very empty and i'm not sure what it should look like, and it might've been taken when programmer wasn't working correctly.
i have tried non-vpro bios on this site, no luck, just fast fan spin and no display/POST.

i looked up the data sheet of the 1mb winbond chip and it says 1.8v, which i assumed was why the write started off fine and then errored out at some point... but then i look and UG15 is same chip and i wrote that fine... i didn't bother to look up the gigadevice chip, but i'm assuming it may be 1.8v also and i was able to write to it.
anyway thanks, i'll order a new chip and replace. thankfully it's soic8 because wson doesn't always work out for me lolol.

i have uploaded all of my chip reads here. i downloaded a full suite from biosfix however now i cannot write to UG13. it errors out at 12% most often, sometimes 25%, and once at 31%. the chip has been erased. FMLRe: alienware 17 R4 power on/off, no... however now iLeave a comment:

hey all,
i've got an alienware 17 R4 on my hands, LA-D751P BAP10 Rev1.0
when i received it, this was the behavior:
press power button= fan spin, led/kb illuminate for a second, then powers off. no LCD/backlight
<repeat until power is cut>
if i remove the RAM and power on=
machine would power on then LED would indicate bad CMOS batt
if i remove the CMOS batt and ram, i will get NO RAM LED error
i tried several bios dumps from this forum, which all result in CPU FAILURE LED error. some bios will give me full tron... -

while the binary didn't work for me, i extracted the configured ME region and inserted to my binary, and it POSTs in three seconds.

thank you! i flashed the binary, and it plays the 8note chip tune and then does nothing \-; this bios plays the chip tune every time i power on, not just the first time i power on after flashing.
i have attached a dump of my bios too. my bios doesn't make it play a song.
i have tried using the reset button three times, it just makes it play the song again on the next boot....Leave a comment:

i have this brand new T480 lenovo with a 2/20/2019 build date type 20L6-S3JG00
it was bricked and i was able to buy a bios dump from ************ and get it booting, but it takes MINUTES before the lenovo splash screen even appears.
i'll press the power button, and the power button lights up
keyboard will illuminate for a moment then fade out
then i have only power button lit up, sometimes function lock light
it will sit here for minutes
then the lenovo splash screen comes and everything works fine after that

it was completely raped by the previous "tech"
tons of screws stripped, standoffs broken, components knocked off...
there is a component missing that appears on the iFixit teardown MLB photo.. but is mysteriously absent from the .brd and pdf schematic.
please see attached photos. does anybody know what's going on?
