Just bought a CH341A programmer for Thinkpad T480s, IC chip is 25Q128JVSQ,
I used the AsProgrammer 2.1.0 .13 Version, But I cannot find this chip model in CH341A chip list, there are only 25Q128BV and 25Q128FV.
Can someone help how to handle this IC 25Q128JVSQ?
Thanks very much.Last edited by Vincehu; 01-07-2025, 08:36 PM.Comment

Hi,
for me, it doesn't work. BIN is patched, everything seems to work but as soon as I flash back the original dump, I still have the password. Any ideas what I did wrong?
Both files attached. Machine is a ThinkPad T450s 20BX-000XGE SN PC-04QAV8

Hello, I have a problem with my Lenovo ThinkPad E585 laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 2500U). I have a problem at this point in the manual:
STEP 4: Enter any character when asked for Supervisor Password
When I press F1, a screen is shown asking me to enter the password (on a black background, like a command line) but the keyboard stops working, no buttons on the keyboard work. I also tried to connect a USB keyboard - unfortunately the same thing happened. I tried to turn off and try to repeat all the steps again and again several times - but unfortunately nothing has changed, the laptop seems to freeze. When I restore the backup bios, everything works fine in Windows 10, the keyboard works, the laptop works without any problems (but the password in the bios unfortunately remains and I can't reinstall Windows). I also tried the already patched dump from the forum (post hoaca388):
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...s-dump-request
But the result is the same, you can't enter the password on the patched bios. Maybe someone knows a solution, what am I doing wrong?

Tried the prcedure twice, sadly still the same... Is there a difference between supervisor and boot password for patching? Because it seems that it's the boot password on the machine.

I have a P50 and I am also having the same problem. After flashing the patched Bios, the laptop doesn't boot. The power button light turns on, the fan spins, the screen stays black, and after a minute or about 75 seconds, it just turns off.Hi Everybody! Until now I have been able to unlock a couple of Thinkpads thanks to this system which I think is quite easy and straight-forward.
Anyway now I came across a P50, and it seems that autopatcher is NOT working: if I patch the BIOS, laptop boots up for 5/6 seconds but then it shuts OFF. NO video screen, NO beep codes.
What I did: dumped the file using a clamp (dumped twice, checked using certutil and generated same hash file so I moved on); patched with autopatched, loaded new BIOS. tried 3 times, same results...
Can it be because of the MACRONIX chip? That is the 1st one I am finding (previous ones were Winbond). Attacched original DUMP.
If I write the original Bios back, it boots normally.
Did you find any solution for this?
I am attaching the original dump and the patched one. Can anyone please help me?Attached FilesComment

In my previous post, I attached the original dump and the patched file. I patched it using the autopatcher, but the laptop unfortunately doesn't boot with it.

I was able to fix it, using another P50's patched file. It took a little bit time, and it restarted a few times, but eventually it did boot and I could remove the password.

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-
