Thank you for this information, I was able to fix my machine with no picture after BIOS update!
Finding the BID is easy, just search your dumped BIOS files for the string "BID".

Hello there, You are the BEST !! Very thank you all for your troubleshooting manuals and infos here. Today I repaired a 250 G7.
The Mainboard is EPW50 LA-G07FP Rev. 1.0
The BID I found in the dump file and used it with success: 08532
The chip is GigaDevice 25B127DSIG, but was not listed in Neo Programmer, so I connected it with 25Q127C.
I copied the DMI so I didn lost the model number, serial, key and so on, Offsets: 320000 - 32103F, found in another thread here by SMDFlea.
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-rev-1-0/page2
So thank you very well! This was the first time to flash an chip and it was success cause of this website!
Greetings from Germany, Hoagie666

Hi there, I got this laptop used and when it reboots it tries everytime to update the BIOS but it fails to write the bios and stucks at 1%.
To power off the machine, i need to open it and remove the battery.
I saw in the BIOS that the serial, model and windows serial info are missing. Maybe the previous owner messed with the BIOS for some reason, and now I don't have the DMI data.
Maybe if I can manually insert back the values, I can proceed to update, but how can I add the values? I tried with the HP BIOS Tool but with no luck. I do have an SPI Programmer (using Raspberry PI)Leave a comment:

Re: hp 250 g7 corrupt bios
sp100745 is a diagnostics app, that version does not include any bios. The recovery methods are listed in this HP document - https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02693833
There is no bios update listed on the 250 G7 drivers support page but a full bios is is included on the latest HP PC HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS 4-IN-1 USB KEY - http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp1035...0/sp103655.exe
Make another key from that and run it, if you still can`t recover the bios then extract the 4-in-one key with winrar or 7zip.Look in the folder called Field, then open the BIOSCopy.csv to find your bios name in the list. All the full bios are in the BIOS folder.Flash the bios with your tl866,then you`ll need to run hp BCU bios config utility from windows, nbdmifit from UEFI or use wndmifit from windows.
HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=69204
EDIT: The bios.bin isn`t in the BIOS folder even though its listed in the BIOSCopy.csv file. The bios is 084A8 ,check your bios backup to make sure its the right one. Strangely the bios is included with an earlier version of the 4-in-one key for other models but not listed in the .csv , thanks HP ! .
Bios 084A8.bin attached .

by BloodhoundjeHi everyone,
I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...-

by TripTopHi
i have dell latitude E7270 with following symptoms:
- takes long time to restart.
- sometimes powers on and then off
- sometimes while working it just dies,
From googling online bios clean could possible resolve this?
i was able to save bios and was going to try bios clean myself but get an below error when i drop it in ME analyzer.(unsure whether this sometimes occurs or could be due to bad/corrupt bios)
As ME analyzer gave me an error i just decided to write bios with a cleaned bios from E7270 bios post.
I reinstall...-

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

by grimacelordHello there.
I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.
History:
1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.
I searched for this error online and discovered...-

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-
