Hey, this is great! A clean BIOS where I can enter the information with the Bios Config Utility!
I now flashed the BIOS, and it boots. Then I entered the information in the Bios Config Utility, but somehow the MAC Address cannot be set. It always stayed at 00-04-80-00-40-00 in the BIOS. Probably because of a defective ME configuration this configuration was not possible. Dumb me, I locked the Manufacturer Programming Mode even though the MAC address does not match. When locking the MPM I entered the MAC Adress in the BIOS so the locking was possible. But on the Information page there is still not a valid MAC address. After locking MPM, I could fix the ME by performing a BIOS update.
But now the LAN port does not work. What can I do? Is there a possibility to unlock MPM again, without having to reprogram both chips? Is the non-working LAN port even caused by a wrong configuration or is this an other error? Is it possible to do this with reprogramming only one chip? Shall I send the content of the 32MB Chip? Will this help?
Will cleaning the VSS2 unlock MPM and help here?
danito, thanks a ton, and for any further help, thank you in advance!Leave a comment:

Hello,
I have an EliteBook 840 G6. It had a bios password. Then I tried to read the 32MB BIOS chip, but thereby destroyed the content of this chip.
In the meantime I have unsoldered 32MB and 16MB chip and tried to flash contents available here in the forum, but I did not succeed. The best that had happened was that I had a working laptop, but as soon as I restored the BIOS to factory default configuration the laptop died and never turned on again.
I upload the defective 32MB BIOS and the 16MB chip content with password here.
Would someone mind helping here?
Thank you in advance!

Re: hp 840 g6 6050A3022501-MB-A01

by AJ847.63eHi All,
Just wanted to ask is it possible to remove admin user accounts on Mojave when you do not have the admin password for the account you want to remove? We have our own account setup as an admin but the customers setup their own also as an admin.
We have a loaner A1708 we leant to a customer while we were repairing her A2442. Customer decided she would setup her own account despite me setting up an account for her. We obviously do not have her password and unfortunately, she cannot remember what password she used so now we have a second admin account we would... -
by ritaloHello,
I have a MacBook Air 13 inches 2014.
I have set a EFI password and I can't remember it : now I want to reinstall macOS and I can't because the MacBook is asking for the password.
I know how to remove the password with a usb programmer.
I plug the usb programmer to the motherboard and to my pc with usb, I read the EFI and I save it to a file.
Then I have to find this value in the file : $SVS because it indicate where is the password.
But I can't find the value.
I have attached the file

by NopslideHello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.
My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).
Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....-

by beBossHi,
as noobie to this please excuse my lack of experience.
I am trying to remove a BIOS password from this machine:
HP ProDesk 400 G6 Mini
but so far I still have no success.
I bought CH341 programmer and decided to give it a try.
The programmer came with 8 pin cables and connectors or whatever everything else is called so I had to buy a new 16 pin cable because the chip which I think is the BIOS is with 16 pins..
I connected everything and downloaded AsProgrammer and NeoProgrammer then installed drivers...-
