Hi . Finally I have CH431A.
I have a X380 yoga mainboard (DTZS1 LA-F421P). I don't know if it is password locked. It starts, nothing in display and then it sounds a melody. (According to the Lenovo acoustic identification app, the error is: 0285: TCG-compliant functionality-related error (might be the TPM initialization failure), I have seen it is frequently related to bios upgrade problems

I have followed the procedure of patching the bios.

Surprisingly, mainboard works with patched bios, no melody, lenovo logo appears and I have followed the procedure:

STEP 6: Press space bar 2x when asked
STEP 7: Turn off machine
STEP 8: Restore original BIOS
But, after i restored the original bios, again nothing in display and a melody.
What can I do? Is the original bios corrupt? If so, why does the patching work? can I download a standard one, where can I get it? And what about the CRC?

It works!!! I have tried Linux and Windows 10 and apparently everything works.
However, something annoying happens. The laptop takes 30 seconds, with a black screen, until it starts to boot and the Lenovo logo appears on screen. It also takes a long time to resume from suspend.
I have checked the model in the BIOS, 20LJ-S34P0Y. The same is on the sticker in laptop cover. So that shouldn't reflect the installed bios.
Have I downloaded maybe a bios from another model? What else could be happening?Comment

I have been trying upgrading and downgrading several bios versions through lenovo repository for X380 yoga. I have reset the bios to default, I have tried changing many parameters (quick boot, lan boot,...), but the laptop still takes 30 seconds until the first Lenovo logo appears to access the bios. I have done all the diagnostic tests on the board and it passes fine. Also, when I suspend and resume in Windows or Linux, it takes 15 seconds to wake up.
Any idea what could be the problem?Comment

Maybe the problem (Long time to boot until seeing the Lenovo logo) is related this. ME (Intel Management Engine) firmware is missing in the BIOS.
Could this have anything to do with flashing the BIOS?

Hello,
I got a Lenovo ThinkStation P520 (Type 30BF) from a friend, asking me for a repair. Windows 11 offered a firmware upgrade as an optional update, and it failed.
The emergency flash procedure from the hardware manual has also failed. So, I asked an acquaintance with better skills to flash the BIOS directly.
However, the chip (a Macronix MX25L25673GMI-08G) has a size of 32 MB, and the BIOS file from the Lenovo website (extracted with UEFITool) has a little more than 16 MB. Thus, the software my acquaintance used (SiberiaProg v1.45, with a CH341A Programmer)... -
I'm trying to extract a flashable bios file(ch341a) from the lenovo bios executable download. I have tried the instructions from this site https://starkeblog.com/lenovo/uefi/2...pdate-exe.html, which are not working. According to those instructions, after issuing the commandit should create an \app folder, inside which, I should find a newly created "7wcn38ww.exe" file. I should then be able to extract that using 7zip and find my .FD file.Code:

I have Thinkpad T560 Which has corrupted BIOS. I have acquired Ch341A SPI flasher to program the BIOS externally. I see that to program the BIOS, i need a bin file for the BIOS. I was able to extract the .exe file of BIOS from Lenovo given here in this link:

I was having issues with this particular laptop where the NVME SSD would disappear and would not detect unless I took it out and reconnected it, then it would detect for only for a minute then disappear from BIOS. I figured updating the BIOS was worth a try so I booted into my HBCD USB and downloaded the latest BIOS file for that exact model. I ran the executable and everything went smooth, it beeped and then when it restarted, now it won't post, just black screen with fan spinning.

and I have encountered a Black screen on startup. I have tried the power drain and all sorts of tricks that were available online to revive it but no joy.
