Hello everybody: I have a problem in the bench with an A1466. It takes a lot of time since you push the PWR until the chime sounds. After that, the machine runs perfectly. But it takes 20...30 secs to gimme the chime sound. I thought maybe it will be a problem in the BIOS (corrupted?). This machine is an A1466 EMC3178 (it has Big Sur, so maybe the firmware was updated in the process of Big Sur installation, because the original EMC was EMC2678). I'll go to update here the bin file which is (suposedly) giving me this error, so I beg your help. TIA for your always invaluable help.
The machine data is:
MacBook Air A1466 SN is: FVHYHWZAJ1WK.You can also read in the back cover EMC3178. The MoBo is 820-00165-A.
It must be the latest batch, because it has Big Sur installed without tricks. It has 8Gb RAM, and only 120Gb SSD (I'm going to change it, amongst other things, like the startup delay problem...annoying!).
EDIT: This happens even without internal SSD. Even when you reset NVRAM; the time between chimes is veeeery looong. The curious thing is that, once started, the machine works like a charm (well...with Big Sur...I don't like it, but it works normally). I was thinking about the SMC reset signal, which can be "delayed" by any reason. But all signals in the scope appears well, compared to an older, working normally board (older, of course).Attached FilesComment

Dear friends., Working on MacBook Air A1466. All works fine. I restored the MacBook to macOS Monterey. Upon setup I just noticed that this is locked to a school & request me to restore to school data. I re-build the BIOS Bin files & again it is asking for the school account. Isn't this info stored on the EEPROM or somewhere else. Have I done something wrong or it going with the Serial # written onto the BIOS. Can someone kindly check what wrong am I doing as the school info is not erasing. Thanks in advance. MacBoook Air A1466 Serial # FVFWMZNBJ1WK EMC 3178 Logic Board # 820-00165-AAttached FilesComment

- In firmwares for systems from 2015 and later, you'll see "ME Region" at the top level of the hierarchy displayed upon loading the file. Right click on "ME Region", select "Extract As Is", and save that file with a .rgn extension --> REPOSITORY.RGN
I thing this is the ME region XD (https://logi.wiki/index.php/Clean_EFI_ME_Region) I see on this link. I will trying again.

by iZakreHello everybody!
To put you in context I recently replaced the battery from my HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns with a used one, everything was going good. The same day, I decided to update the BIOS, everything went good. The thing occurred after I let the battery drain iddling on Windows 11 for the second time to calibrate it that the screen did not turn on again, the computer was on but the screen did not turn, like it would not wake from hibernation. I decided to restart the computer but got no video.
The thing is that I had installed TeamViewer and could log into the computer... -
by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

by BloodhoundjeHi everyone,
I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...-
