Hi there, after my request for the cleaning of a Yoga360 in an extra Post was fullfilled, I found this Thread. I wanted to try this process by myself with an T570. I compiled all the data i found in this thread and created a patched dump. Here is what I did:
- exchanged the xxxtranslate and bootxxx in UEFI-Tool with the patched xxxtranslation (posted as patched single file)and the bootxxx from the 3-file-package.
- modified the two VSS2, FTW and EVSA regions as described on page 26 with HxD (my EVSAStore started @Base 890000 instead of 880000 in UEFITool a57)
- flashed the patched dump
- removed everything battery wise
- double checked soldering points
- switch pressed, power supply in
leads to Lenovo Screen followed by:
"0271: check date and time"
"0251: system cmos checksum bad..."
"0183: Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI variable"
Press F1 to enter Setup
F1 leads to System Shutdown, repeat xN
Leaving it on for about 10 Minutes no changes. Maybe somebody can look into the patched_dump I created to check what I was doing wrong

Try another modified dump from here! Search in this topic!

Thank you - it worked. But I also got the
"0183: Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI variable"
Errors there, after 5 Minutes of waiting it worked, still dont know what I was doing wrong with the patching maybe the patched lenovotranslate should be the one from the 3-file-package, not the single posted one...

When using another dump, it takes longer. Even so in some cases it doesn't work!
I guess there is P24S08 or L08 EEPROM on thinkpad L440 motherboard. If you can find out this EEPROM, you can unlocked yours.
Watching this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANZjUPUYE7s).
P/S: I used to unlock Thinkpad L540 (not thinkpad L440) via this menthod. I attached "L08 EEPROM location" on Thinkpad L540.
Good luck to you.
