    Hp elitebook 840 g3 bios password

    Hi,
    I need help to unlock HP ELITEBOOK 840 G3 bios. I found 2 different bios chips: winbond 25Q128FVPQ and winbond 25Q64FVIQ . Is this bios unlockable ?

        post the contents of the winbond chip 25Q128FVPQ, you need an SPI programmer ... more details can be found on the internet ..

            I have CH341a programmer and RT809F, I am going to try with those ! I ll send dump as soon as I manage to read the chip !

                                                I tried the HP Unlock Tool on this BIOS dump but it did not work, the BIOS still has a password.

                                                Could someone please unlock it for me?

                                                Any assistance is appreciated.

                                                                    BIOS File for HP Elitebook 840 G3

                                                                    Hi everyone, I purchased an HP Elitebook 840 G3 and it is BIOS lock. I have a CH341a board in order to repogram the BIOS, but I can't seem to find the BIOS in the manufacturer site. Does anyone know where I can get this?

                                                                                    These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

                                                                                    I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.

                                                                                    I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.

                                                                                    I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.

                                                                                    However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.

                                                                                    Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
