Ideapad 5 - 1411L05 - BIOS
Model: 81YH
MO: MPNXB05150FG
MTM: 81YHCT01WW
I have an Ideapad 5 that will not post, the fan spins and the power button is flashing.
I removed the BIOS chip and have attached a copy of the original BIOS bin file.
I downloaded the latest BIOS file for the device and extracted the ROM image, which I then converted to a BIN file using the software supplied with my XGPro 2. I have also attached this file to my post.
Unfortunately, the laptop is still not posting and I am basically out of knowledge and ideas.

Thanks for the attempt Lapfix but your file is identical to my file after it had been passed through HP Unlock Tool.

840 G3 BIOS unlock request
I tried the HP Unlock Tool on this BIOS dump but it did not work, the BIOS still has a password.
Could someone please unlock it for me?
Any assistance is appreciated.Last edited by SMDFlea; 04-10-2023, 11:33 AM.

Re: BIOS Chip location on HP Elitebook 840 G6
It does look like a BIOS chip, I was looking for the location of both BIOS chips for this board. Its a 256Mb chip - so I am guessing it is the wrong chip.
There are several posts from members who have backed up both, I was hoping one of these members would have replied - with the location of both of these chips.

BIOS Chip location on HP Elitebook 840 G6
I have an 840 G6 and need to remove the BIOS password.
If I have read correctly this can be removed by editing the 32Mb BIOS chip.
I believe I have located this BIOS chip (refer to image) but would like to know for sure the location of the two BIOS chips on this board.
Any assistance would be appreciated....

Re: Acer Spin 5 SP513-51 New battery not charging
Thank you for the reply Stingerchamp.
I have not been able to find any motherboard ID, there is zero voltage on the battery pins and I have not been able to locate the charging IC.
There is a tactile switch on the bottom of the motherboard that needs to be pressed to allow the battery to charge - so it is difficult to measure anything battery related....

Acer Spin 5 SP513-51 New battery not charging
This laptop is not charging the battery, I am aware of the battery tactile switch on the bottom of the motherboard.
I have reset the BIOS etc.
I cannot find a boardview for this model - I suspect a faulty charging IC
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Satellite L50-B-1NX
Hi Guys, I cannot get a clearer image of this component, my phone just refuses to focus on it.
I agree, this looks like a crystal, if you guys are confident that it is 32KHz is there any reason why I could not just purchase a generic SMD replacement?
Example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CRYSTAL-32-768KHZ-9PF-SMD/124226022348?hash=item1cec72abcc:g:mNkAAOSw4yte6fMm
I presume there is no schematic/Boardview for this motherboard?
Any assistance is appreciated.Re: Satellite L50-B-1NX

Re: Satellite L50-B-1NX
Thank you for the reply, it is not going to be easy getting a closer photo, the component is tiny. I will give it a go.
Also - would this component stop the laptop posting?

This laptop will not boot up, I have examined the MB and found a blown component.
Motherboard: da0blimb6f0 rev f
Can anyone identify the blown component?
Any assistance would be appreciated....
