Hello guys. I have a thinkpad X240 with BIOS lock
, when you turn it on only a padlock appears, the client says she does not remember the password. I thought that perhaps the solution would be to reprogram the 25Q128V memory, but searching for information in this forum I found that the solution is to follow the steps that appear in the following link:

            https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...emoval?t=87588

I have several problems, a friend managed to patch the BIOS following the instructions in the link, but once I soldered the memory again I have not been able to get it to unlock.
Reading the responses to the tutorial that my colleague Knucklegrumble uploaded, I realized that I did not find any response that simply said "thank you, it worked for me", I only saw responses with terms that I really did not understand. Has anyone been able to unlock this type of laptop with these steps or with others?

Would someone be so kind as to give me the step by step instructions? Either from the link I posted or some effective method.

Just in case I upload the original backup of the locked laptop

            Thank you so much

I failed to detail that with the patched memory, when you turn it on, you hear 2 cycles of 4 beeps, after that the lock appears, when I get to the step of pressing the space bar twice the following appears:

Just found out that my laptop had HDD password also, that's why it always asked again for the BIOS password, but after removing HDD it doesn't ask password and it seems that it has gone already..

                    Thanks

Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 1 i7 (20U4) Bios and EC dump needed
                      by Joluvillas
Hi all! I was reading on tutorials how to flash a bios to remove password from a bios, and I ended up reading the EC chip instead of the main bios chip, it only gave me a .bin file of 1,024kb, I learned later that that is the EC chip not the main bios chip (I should have read the tutorials here instead before attempting anything, my bad), I went to flash the original backup, the 1,024kb size file into the same chip and laptop is not powering up anymore. I may have screwed the chip or even the motherboard (Hopefully not), I am trying to see if there is a fix before I discard it. I had a couple...

                      Hello everyone,

                      EC Chip: NPCX997KAABX

So far I've been a silent reader, but now I need your help

I bought a laptop. The seller said the bios was locked. I was looking for a way to remove this ban.
I then got the CH341A and pulled the corresponding files from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...evices-and-ele...
The laptop was brought in with a BIOS problem and a password. After reading the dump, the information was damaged. I ask for help in the BIOS with a clean ME region. Motherboard 213035-1. Serial number: PW+04e998, Type number: 21c3-0016ge

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)

                      Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...
