Re: Need bios dump for Lenovo Thinkpad X240
Hello,
I've trouble with a X240 : when I plug it, I see the green power led blinking four times (not three). When I try to boot it, I only see the keyboard leds lighting one time, then the green power led blinking four times once again and nothing else.
I've flash the bios with a "generic" bios found on the net : the laptop start (after a long time because of ME Region I suppose). Then I've tried to change date on the bios but it was impossible because of a supervisor password (and impossible to enter the bios and see it after three wrong password). I've come back to the X240 few hours later and now, the laptop doesn't boot at all : when I plug the charger, the laptop try to boot automatically and the green led power button still lighetening without anything else.
I've try to flash once again the generic bios but the laptop stil try to boot itself without any result : no beeps, no logo, etc...
What can I do ?
Thanks for your reply and best regards.
PS : I've make several copy of the original bios and always verify 2 times each flash and copy.Comment

by JoluvillasHi all! I was reading on tutorials how to flash a bios to remove password from a bios, and I ended up reading the EC chip instead of the main bios chip, it only gave me a .bin file of 1,024kb, I learned later that that is the EC chip not the main bios chip (I should have read the tutorials here instead before attempting anything, my bad), I went to flash the original backup, the 1,024kb size file into the same chip and laptop is not powering up anymore. I may have screwed the chip or even the motherboard (Hopefully not), I am trying to see if there is a fix before I discard it. I had a couple...

by 1g0rHello everyone,
First, the data in brief:
Manufacturer: Lenovo

So far I've been a silent reader, but now I need your help
I bought a laptop. The seller said the bios was locked. I was looking for a way to remove this ban.
I then got the CH341A and pulled the corresponding files from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...evices-and-ele...The laptop was brought in with a BIOS problem and a password. After reading the dump, the information was damaged. I ask for help in the BIOS with a clean ME region. Motherboard 213035-1. Serial number: PW+04e998, Type number: 21c3-0016ge -
by akwkyHi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).
Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...04-14-2025, 01:56 PM - Loading...
