Was the customer doing a BIOS update when they forcefully shut it down? If not, I would check other things first. I would physically look at the capacitors, especially the ones around the CPU, to see if any of them have swollen tops. If that was good, I would try checking the RAM, to see if one of the RAM sticks died. If there's more than one stick, you can remove them all and try just one stick at a time, if you don't have a known good stick of RAM to try.

Then I'd look at the power supply. Using a power supply tester usually isn't enough. The power supply can be turning on but still have bad capacitors inside. The voltages can show good until the power supply is under load.

Re: Asus x55u bios needed pls

Here's a BIOS from Asus's website for the r503u. I just went to their site and typed in r503u in the search box. It only returned one search result. I clicked it and downloaded the BIOS. It's version 423 and they say:
              Code:
Fix there is not U3 device boot option in popup menu when insert U3 device into U3 port
As always, before you try flashing, I would create a backup of the current BIOS, even if you suspect it's corrupt, unless it's physically damaged and you have no other options. That way, if it's the wrong BIOS or something goes wrong, you can just restore it to the condition it's currently in.

**EDIT: Whoops! I didn't realize the original post was almost over 2 years ago. Sorry!
