    ASUS N55SF problem with BIOS

    Hi all,
Describe problem. Yesterday I decided to reinstall Windows, have installed SSD I decided to do a secure erase for him, I booted from USB which have Parted magic, reset took place without any problems. After the reboot, what is wrong with bios, after the POST message appears that that there is no operating system - displays a black screen, and then I put the stick and install win8, at the stage of the first reboot it did not take place as it should, and as a long time. After windows installation is complete, saw that now is not working properly restart, shutdown does not work, and also the sleep mode. Shutdown and sleep mode are of the form - its looks like the monitor is off, the electronics too, but the motherboard is working and cooler too. I reflash the BIOS latest BIOS available on the site asus .207 few times, but it did not help.
Also important will still announce that two weeks ago, I flash bios from N55SL, as a result there were signs are the same as I described above that not working - shutdown, restart and sleep. Seeing these things I flash back the original bios of my model n55sf, and everything was normal work (until yesterday).
Sometimes when the laptop does not turn on, burn 2 lights - power and capslock, heard how the cooler and through somewhere 30 seconds notebook is off. Have to turn on it 1-2 times until it starts.
This problem is hardware since I tried it with other operating systems do the same operation(shutdown, reboot, sleep) - Win7 Win8 Linux, the result remained the same.

[TUTORIAL] fix asus bios with bios from asus web support (by razor_amd)
            by razor_amd
With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
            by grimacelord
            Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

            ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
            by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
            Some issues
            A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

            Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

Asus ROG Ally X -RC72LA - changed hidden bios settings with 'Smokeless-UMAF', won't get past boot logo
            by throwaway327
ASUS ROG Ally X - (Handheld Gaming PC)
            Model No: RC72LA
            Serial No: SBNVKD001014459

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...
