Asus T103HAF BIOS flashed to a new chip not working

    Hi,
I have an issue with this Laptop. It works with the BIOS attached. But when I flash this BIN to another Chip of the same type and solder it to the device, it won't come on. Power LED is blinking and webcam light turns on. Is it possible that the BIOS is connected to the Chip ID and is there any way to bypass? Thanks a lot!

You should change to another chip, maybe the chip you choose is not good.

The story is that I got around 10 of these tablets working, but with a BIOS password and one without, so I just wanted to flash the dump of the unlocked one to the others. Devices are all identical. I tried flashing the dump on two tablets already, they won't boot. And if I solder their chip to the one where the dump originally came from, the screen also stays black.

You can`t just copy one bios from one and expect it to work on another. For one thing, you would have to clean the ME firmware (and copy the DMI,windows key etc). The bios you posted is the one without the password, post one that has a password. It`s an AMI bios, and if the password can be decrypted then the same password might have been used on all of them. If the password can`t be decrypted it can be patched with a hex editor easily to remove it.

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
                by BMCappelletti
                Long story short:
                - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
                - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
                - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
                - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...

A: If you can`t read from it how do you expect to write to it ?.

Q: Why is my bios chip unreadable ?.

[TUTORIAL] fix asus bios with bios from asus web support (by razor_amd)
                by razor_amd
With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

Looking for a bios for Asus G512-LV with RTX2060 and bios for VGA chip
                by maciek1221
Hello, I am looking for a bios insert for the Asus Rog Strix G512LV-HN235T laptop. We are looking for input for both the BIOS and the small chip for the graphics card. The laptop came to me after another service with the wrong BIOS (no serial number, the problem with the meregion turns on for more than a minute). After uploading a few batches, I have an exclamation mark next to the Nvidia RTX2060 graphics card, I suspect one of the 2 BIOS batches is incorrect.
                Config:
                Model: Asus G512LV-HN235T
                Platforma: G532LWS rev. 1.3
                CPU: intel i7-10870H
                GPU: nVidia Geforce RTX2060/...
