Lost/Damaged BIOS password on Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 1

Hi, the password set on a ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 doesn't seem to work anymore or was forgotten. Is there any way to possibly remove/reset it?

It has tamper protection too, so removing the back'll force the BIOS password prompt unless someone knows for sure, I don't want to open the machine.

BIOS password on newer Lenovo's is in the embedded controller, not the BIOS chip. There are some removal methods, but it depends on what EC is on the board.

You'll will have to open it and determine what motherboard is fitted, or what EC is installed and go from there.

Should I buy a Lenovo Thinkpad E495 with bios password?
        by RMDUiFT
Good day. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong topic. I saw somebody selling a Thinkpad E495 with a Ryzen 3500U CPU near me. In the pictures the laptop is running windows 10. I contacted the seller and asked a few questions about upgradability and if it has a bios password on it. He confirmed it has a bios password. I searched through the forum, I found a guide regarding removing the bios password using the autopatcher, I also found a thread with the e495 where people requested help with unlocking the bios password.

        I have a few questions:
        • If I would buy this laptop and have

Thinkpad P14s Gen 4, BIOS Supervisor Password
        by badzymandiaz
I have a laptop that was purchased second-hand, and I am able to boot Windows on and extract the BIOS dump (ONLY the BIOS region, I was unable to dump anything else due to an FCERR I received trying to dump the other regions) and use normally. However, because the BIOS is locked with a supervisor password, I am unable to use anything else except for Windows, and it has also disabled some hardware features of the laptop itself, such as the fingerprinting module, etc. that I really do wish to use.

I have been digging around for nearly 2 weeks trying to find any mention of the same model...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
        by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...
