Greetings and thanks for all your work supporting this community.

I'm trying to remove the bios password for my HP Elitebook 735 G6. I have read the guides and searched the forums but have not been able to solve my issue.

I removed the bios chip (WINBOND W25Q16JVSIQ) and read it via a XGecu T48, returning successful results. I saved the bin file but when I drag and drop it to the RCUnlocker.exe file, I get the error, "Missing Unlockable Content!"

          Here is my machine info:

Model number: HP Elitebook 735 G6
          Serial number: 5CG9495TRD
Motherboard model number/revision: I do not find these despite following the guide
          BIOS dump is attached

Thank you for any help you can provide.

WINBOND W25Q16JVSIQ is not a bios chip.

Well, that would certainly explain my trouble. But I'm confused because I do see text in the dump which appears to be from a bios menu.

Could it be that the chip is simply W25Q16JV?

You look for chips with numbers 64, 128, 256... on the face. Ex : W25Q256JV

Thanks again for your quick help. After a lot more digging I am fairly sure that the 25Q16JV chip is, in fact, the bios chip. There are no other bios candidates on the motherboard and the data sheet from Winbond seems to indicate it's a bios chip. I even found the bios listed in the dump.

Any other thoughts on why I'm getting the "Missing Unlockable Content!" error?

                  Thanks!

                    I bowed my head.

I'm unsure what your response means but I will assume you're saying that I'm wrong.

                      Thanks again for your assistance.

The file you posted ( W25Q16JV 2MB) is not the contents of the bios chip, it is a firmware chip for Realtek Wifi DASH ,remote management https://www.realtek.com/Article/News...2326&app_id=18

Many thanks, that makes sense. I was finally able to track down a board diagram and learned that there are actually two bios chips on the HP Elitebook 735 G6 - one on the bottom labeled U365 and one on the top, U366. I believe they're both W25Q128JV chips which are smaller and surface mounted with no legs.

Do you know if it's possible to reprogram both chips using RCUnlocker? HP Elitebook is listed as a compatible laptop but perhaps not this model number?

Posts moved to 735 G6 thread topic. The password can be removed if you post the bios backup.
