I have a E6430 which was also locked. It also had the ***-1D3B lock code. First of all the easiest way to fix this would be to chat with a Dell tech support rep who was able to take my code and generate an unlock code. It was free since it is still under warranty. This will save you a lot of headache. you can try the code I was given but I'm pretty sure its specific to the service tag number. Good luck!

If at some point in the past you created a Windows Vista password reset disk, now is the time to use it! This is one of those situations where being proactive pays off.

Your password reset disk will still work even if you've changed your Windows Vista password since creating it.

for anyone having trouble unlocking dell latitude e6420 bios i dont know if this code will help or work another system but you can try anyways. i also have a service tag that ends with 1D3B and i got the code from a paid generator service.
