Hi boys,
This is my first post in BADCAPS and I hope I don't make any mistakes and give the correct explanations.
Yesterday a friend brought me this laptop home to expand the RAM to 16GB of RAM and update it since it had been abandoned recently.
Everything was fine, until I made the mistake of updating the BIOS to version F.73 from version F.24, since after according to HP "updating correctly" the laptop never worked again, leaving the screen black but the fan is working and the light of M.2 is on.
After having carried out all the frequent internet steps (Win + B, USB recovery) we have not achieved anything, arriving "I think" to the conclusion that for some reason the BIOS was corrupted or that version published by HP has some error.
I have fixed many software/hardware problems but never with this one, that is why I have already done the following:
- Buy a USB programmer in order to reprogram the BIOS (https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07RKXSMKH)
- Check the model of my BIOS chipset, Winbond brand and model 25Q64JVSIQ
- Check motherboard model: CSL50/CSL52 LA-E791P Rev:2.0 and date: 2017-07-18
- Find out BID of the motherboard which is 08328
Things I still need to do:
- Extract DUMP from my current BIOS, I am waiting for AMAZON to deliver my package.
If you can help me, I would be delighted.
If I have made a mistake, let me know and I will try to correct it immediately.
Regards, Agustin
