Re: lenovo t590 MEC1663 BIOS PASSWORD

        Hello everyone,

I would like to ask if anyone has successfully unlocked a Lenovo T590 with MEC163 EEPROM.

I read a lot about it here and ordered an RT809H programmer.

I know to read the MEC1663 EEROM, the resistor coming from Jtag_RST has to be moved from pull-down to pull-up.

Otherwise the JTAG port is not activated.

I also read that the order should be as follows.

All powerless CMOS battery battery power supply.

Connect Jtag port from 1-5 correctly by cable according to RT809H scheme.

        Add 10k resistance.

        Start programmer software.

Connect the power supply to the motherboard via USB-C.

Select RT809H from list MEC1663 > read 3x and compare content to ensure that the readout was successful.
        Clear EPPROM.

        Unplug the power supply.

All powerless CMOS battery + power supply

All controllers discharge keyboard controllers NVRAM etc.

Start RT809H again and write back the original EPPROM file.

I would be very grateful for information.

Hello Markus1741, I have the same issue with a locked bios on my t590. I am looking at all the possible ways to unlock and i know t490/t590 are different and cannot patch bios to remove password. I see you succeeded using a RT809H programmer. I am headed that way so can you enlighten me more on the process please? if i understand it correctly, I have to read the mec1663 ensuring the data is correct so read 3x. clear the epprom. discharge the system. read epprom and write the data back. and that unlocks the bios password?

                Hello!
                Do it like this:

1.- Read MEC Chip (you MUST select MEC1633_256K - do not select MEC1633#ISP) - read 3x and compare content to ensure that the readout was successful.

                2.- Erase chip

3.- Unplug power from board for 2 Min and unplug programmer also for 2 Min.

4.- -Write dump back that we just read.-Password Is now Gone

Remember to move R/W Resistor Back To Original Position For Normal Operation.

Then, boot from Lenovo utility disk and insert DMI .

                SS

Should I buy a Lenovo Thinkpad E495 with bios password?
                  by RMDUiFT
Good day. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong topic. I saw somebody selling a Thinkpad E495 with a Ryzen 3500U CPU near me. In the pictures the laptop is running windows 10. I contacted the seller and asked a few questions about upgradability and if it has a bios password on it. He confirmed it has a bios password. I searched through the forum, I found a guide regarding removing the bios password using the autopatcher, I also found a thread with the e495 where people requested help with unlocking the bios password.

                  I have a few questions:
                  • If I would buy this laptop and have

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
                  by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Help needed in unlocking BIOS Supervisor password - Lenovo X1 Yoga 5th Gen
                  by baaligoga
                  Good day, everyone!

I'm encountering an issue with my Lenovo X1 Yoga 5th Gen laptop related to the BIOS supervisor password. I'm seeking assistance and guidance from the knowledgeable members of this community in resolving this problem.

I am no expert and cannot perform soldering or unsoldering of the chip from the board. Therefore, I attempted to use an EZP 2023 programmer with a clip to extract the BIOS bin file without removing the BIOS chip from the motherboard. The BIOS chip has the following letters imprinted on it: "Winbond 25Q80DVNIG 2026". I used the...

                  Bios password Lenovo Legion 16IRX8H
                  by darknwo
Hi, can someone help me please with the removal of the bios password of this dump.
Someone desoldered the bios chip, tried several "methods" but with no luck, and he gave me the dump to try to search some help.
For now he deleted more things and bios password is gone but laptop doesn't show serial, model etc.

Also, I updated bios to latest version, when he will write the dump again without password, it should be better to put back the old version that was orignally or doesn't matter? Because from what I've read this laptop has 3 bios chips, don't know if has...

                  Hello,

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

                  I tried :

-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...
