Try the endpoint patcher with the main bios. Post 5 https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...security-error

I did as instructed. The error is gone, I entered all the MPM data and configured the TPM. The laptop complains about the lack of a MAC address. I scan QR-code on Wi-Fi module. All work. ThanksComment

Hi All
I've been repairing this machine and bought a donor board for spares, unfortunately it turns out the original MB has a shorted cpu so is toast.
So now I'm trying to repair the donor, this has all the required voltages, no shorts or physical damage but won't boot, it flashes 5 power lights and the caps lock once, so generic hardware failure.
I've had something similar on another machine and that was bad joints on the EC chip, I've reflowed the EC chip on this board and it's no different.
My working theory is the EC chip bios is corrupted or the EC chip has failed and is preventing the board from starting up, would someone be able to take a look at these files and check for corruption and clean/remove passwords if possible, If this fixes it I'd need MPN enabling so I can change the details to match the original board.
My other question is could I transplant the bios chips from the original board?
Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.Comment

by abhorsenHey guys,
Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.
Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27
Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...-

by mrrubikHi folks,
I got a Dell Optiplex 7010 micro PC (Exact Model) with 8FC8 BIOS and locked out admin password. I attempted to remove the password by patching the BIOS via info from this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ssword-patcher
After flashing the patched the BIOS, the PC is unresponsive with a solid AMBER power LED (not documented in manual anywhere)
Steps I took:- Read BIOS with CH341a, verified hash twice

by AkaBukaiHi there,
I have a 14" Lenovo Laptop (Flex 5 14ALC05) which has a boot issue.
The little LED on the power button is flashing slowly and nothing happen.
This unit do not have any BIOS button cell battery so I tried many times draining the power but it is still not powering on.
So I decided to flash the BIOS using a cheap programmer.
And I was successfully able to read the content (exactly 16MB file) which BTW is a WINBOND 74m12jwsiq (according to the package inscription - but detected as W25Q128FW in the software - IMSProg on Linux)

by spmetroilHello,
I am trying to repair a Dahua NVR4216-4KS2 that is not booting.
The main BIOS/firmware is stored in an SPI flash EEPROM (Winbond 25Q128, labeled as U130 on the PCB).
I have a CH341A programmer and I already attempted the following steps:- Identified the correct chip (W25Q128, 3.3V SPI flash).
- Tried to read the contents with CH341A Programmer software. The dump seems corrupted and I often get the error: “Chip with the contents are in disagreement.”
- Compared several chip type selections (24Cxx and 25Qxx families) to confirm it is indeed a 25 series SPI
