I am not lucky to get it work. I used CH341A to dump the original bios, but can not write bios. The error message: chip main memory with the contents are in disagreement. Then I bought a new program tool RT809F, the bios can be write without any error. After installed the chip, my computer doesn't show any response when press power button. I thought it maybe a bad bios file, then I flashed the original bios, the computer still no response to press power button. Is the computer bricked? What's possible reasons cause this problem? is there any solution I can try to get it work. Thanks.

Hello, sorry but your original BIOS file is damaged.
Unfortunately, this happens again and again with these CH341A programmers.
The RT809F programmer is much better, especially since it also comes with good software from the manufacturer.
I use the RT809H myself and am very happy with it.
Try this version built from version 1.23.0 from Dell
There's nothing like a good backup of the original BIOS and a clean programming of the file.
Good luckAttached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Thank you very much for the help. I flashed the bios you provided, but still doesn't work. before I hold ctrl+esc and then plug in power source, the power button will light up. now it looks the computer was not responsive to any button pressing. I think if the bios is bad, ctrl+esc method should trigger the bios recovery process and light up the power button light, right? I measured the bios vcc is only about 1.4v, I am not sure if this is normal voltage as I think the vcc should be 3.3v, right? is it possible the MB or keyboard is damaged?Hello, sorry but your original BIOS file is damaged.

Hello, at 1.4 volts the BIOS doesn't even start; it needs 3.3 volts.
I also bought a used motherboard on Ebay (Lenovo T490s) and then noticed that a diode over D2101 was missing and only 1.5 volts came to pin 8.
In this case I replaced the diode and then it worked again.
It would also be helpful to have a picture of the soldered chip.
Upload a picture of your chip once.
I don't know how advanced their equipment and skills are for such repairs.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Thanks for sharing the information. You're right. The diode around the bios chip is bad possible due to overheat when desoldering. I checked the diode forward bias is ~1.5v, which is not normal, it should be ~0.5v. The large bias pull down the vcc. I need to find the replacement, hopefully the problem would be solved.Hello, at 1.4 volts the BIOS doesn't even start; it needs 3.3 volts.

I found it on other side of MB, but 25q64 is low profile chip and i cant reach its pins without desoldering, but thats fine. Only problem i dont have tools with me to do that, but once i get them i will try to dump itComment

by SathsulSo, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...-

by jhanraHi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.
so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...-
