I noticed there's a lot of unlock request for this model HP ProBook 440/450 15.6/14 inch G9
The patch won't work if the bios version is latest. use this bin flash both it won't work if you only flash the main you should Flash Both!
first boot press f10 apply factory defaults and restart, 2nd boot reset security settings to defaults and exit.
use BCU and put your original DMI
This bios is extracted from hp website so its fast boot this would work in 2 models 14 and 15.6 inch they have the same bios.
To determine your BID use any hex editor and search for the BID. Ex: U72
frequently asked questions:
can i use this to my HP ProBook 440/450 15.6/14 inch G9- yes
This is the both BID U72 and U85 its all you need.
To determine your original DMI use my DMI tool: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...57-hp-dmi-toolAttached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Bonjour,
-HP PROBOOK 440 G9

-PROD ID 6J3K6EC#ABF
Hello,
I wanted to get ahead of the game by backing up the SPI and ROMEC BIOS. As a result, I lost my entire ECROM program. Would it be possible to get a file, or is it ruined?
Attached is the BIOS file with password.

Hello, so I tried reflashing the EC and did a read test via the CH341A and ASPROGEAMMER. Everything is fine. Soldering on the motherboard. The light flashes orange endlessly. The PC won't turn on. I unsoldered it and did a read test. Nothing on the EC model Gigadevice 25B255EY1G.
Do I have to write the FFs in the software or not?
Can I lock the memory after writing?
Thanks for your help.Comment

by studdy05Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight

by cr4zychrissHello everyone,
I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details- Barebone / Chassis: TongFang GK7MRFR

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-
