ezp2023 doesn't erase all of chip

Hey, I'm trying to remove the password on my HP Elitebook 845 G7, so I have the two chips
    bios: MX25L25673G
    EC: 25Q256JVEN
With EC I programmed the new edit bin file with ezp2023, everything worked, but when I erase MX25L25673G, the data is not completely erased. I'm going crazy, what should I do? Thank you

Perhaps is write protected? Turn write protection off?

Just downloaded the software but unable to find this chip in their database.

        Which version is your software?

See a speed setting. Configure to use the slowest setting and try to erase it again.

i use the equivalent "MX25L25635E" (everyone uses this with this chip). I already tried erasing at low speed, but it didn't help. Software version 3.0

Erase the full chip. Then read it back and post the memory dump here.

Could it be that the chip is damaged? I have another "25Q256JVEN", can I replace it with "MX25L25673G"? They should be the same

I also got the same problem with this chip MX25L25673G. It's write protected but I managed to erase this chip with TL866ii and program the new bios file with ME cleared

i tried to program the bios with "25Q256JVEN" instead of the original chip "MX25L25673G", but now Power LED Blinking Orange continuously. Is it because the chip is not compatible?

The ezp2023 is a very unreliable programmer.

The CH341A is another cheap programmer that has its own faults but i`d prefer it over the EZP. If you are going to buy one get one of the new 1.7 versions that has adjustable voltage, they are more expensive but come with a good selection of adapter boards. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005047096231.html

You can use ASProgrammer,NeoProgrammer, Colibri and flashrom software

I prefer xgecu T48. A bit more expensive but support a lot of chip and very fast.

Ok thank you. So do you think that the power led flashes orange because the chip is programmed badly?
