Hi,
I have a Dell G5 5590 notebook (motherboard VULCAN15_N18E REV A00) with a dead EC (MEC1416-NU). According to my information, this EC has no internal flash memory, but will load EC data from the BIOS into some kind of RAM after power up. Since the new EC has arrived, I want to make absolutely sure that the BIOS is in perfect condition before replacing the EC.
I have attached a dump from the current BIOS. Can somebody clean it, or better yet, provide me with the newest version with DMI information transferred?
Also, there is one other flash chip near the EC belonging to the ELC MCU subsystem according to schematics. I am not entirely sure what kind of data there is on it. Is it worth dumping that also and taking a look at it?
I thank you very much in advance for your help.
Cheers,
