Hello again. I initially flashed the corrupted bios with one that was uploaded in the chat (W25Q256FV@WSON8 8X6_20230112_142817 U367 MAIN). When I did this, the machine from 6 caps blinking went to turn on -but fans stayed fully rpm and that's it. I reflashed it with T82_01130100.bin and now doesn't turn on and caps flashes 7 times. I don't know if there is any hope. I have only the serial number of the machine.Comment

by GuestHello,
I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.
I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.
I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.
However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.
Can the corrupted...-

by fulaphexhello friends - I have purchased a used Thinkpad X13 Gen 3 AMD variant and only after making the purchase I realised that the BIOS is locked. I have spent a bit of time browsing the forum and from what I understand it's possible the modify the BIOS that is currently on the machine and remove the password from that BIOS. For dumping the BIOS from the laptop I have ordered this ch341a programmer. Below is a photo of the password prompt:
I have taken the cover off the laptop and I found that "serial number" is "GM-0358MB" and "type number" is "21CN-S19U00"....-
