I've just tried, it's kind of stuck in a boot loob, power + esc + caps are light, and I see the screen flickering once and the fan spinning and it restart few times, then it's back to my original state, only power button light.
If I clear CMOS, I'm back at the loop boot state.
It detects if I put no RAM (got the beep error code)

Copy update.exe download link ,edit a different number in and try the link again. For example if the current version is***20WW edit ***19WW
I managed to find it but it has just corrupted the bios more as I had an error message after an auto install I believe it was a MT code had been wiped from the bios, the laptop would randomly shut off and it did so when updating the bios 😬. I have ordered a bios chip flash tool and will re flash from one of the many clean bios .bins from this thread once it arrives. Hopefully that will fix it.

thank you for the quick reply.
Ok, but make some good backups first, even though it`s corrupt before you flash any other bios.
hoping it goes smoothly as only got the laptop today. Installed Debian and it auto updated a firmware update that corrupted the bios…. Will be turning that feature off in the bios if I manage to fix it.

Thank you! This helped me too although I have the ThinkPad L480 Type 20LS not 20LT. I had the same errow showing "(A7) Me Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed" and always shutting down after ~40 seconds or less indepentendly if I was in BIOS or OS. The BIOS-Chip is a MX25L12873F.. near the Intel WiFi-Module and above the second RAM-Slot.
Now it runs fine without any error message. The only question I have here is if it is expected to run fine like in the sense if the BIOS is somehow less important atleast if it is in the same category as in product line, model no. etc.
The problem accured after an installation of Kubuntu, as far as I understand the BIOS may got bricked with an update via Kubuntu or maybe it has somethin to do with SecureBoot or TPM, I really don't know but maybe someone can explain what it could really have been. Atleast I therefore deactivate now within the BIOS any update-mechanism for the BIOS, especially before installing a new OS etc. (BIOS -> Security -> UEFI BIOS Update Option -> Windows UEFI Firmware Update: Disabled; I don't know if I should also disable "Flash BIOS Updating by End-Users".
Something I don't understand is why Lenovo doesn't have also the BIOS-File solely on their pc-support help for specifically this and also other laptops.
For now I don't need any assistance or else but I leave this post for documentation purposes so other Users, not having the 20LT-version but the 20LS, can hope that this BIOS also works.
Thanks again everyone for the work and help, have a nice day!
