    Alienware 15 R2 LA-C912P no CPU power

    Hi,
    Device is Alienware 15 R2
    MB: AAO21 LA-C912P Rev: 1.0(A00)

Computer beeps 7 times, meaning "CPU failure". CPU stays cold, gets no power at all. No CPU short, resistance around 4Ohms. GPU voltage seems to be ok. Gate driver on top of coils are SIC632 but I have no experience testing them. Attached the picture with measured voltages, I appreciate any form of help.

    Thanks a lot!

Check Ram requirements are fulfilled or not?? Consumption on dc supply 01.With RAm 02.Without Ram. I'm assuming ram is not onboard.

Thanks, checked different modules, all should be in spec. Power consumption stays the same with or without RAM, around ~700mA. Memory voltage 1.2V is present on each module.

Hi, what voltage do you have on both sides of PL500?

Re: Alienware 15 R2 LA-C912P no CPU power

Power consumption stays same with ram /without ram-this means system is not reading ram. So you have to check voltage on ram slot pins.

          If ram is DDR3-PC3-L
          Pin75/76//1/203/204/126/199/200/202/30

          IF DDR4
          Pin 12/33/75/258//164/254/255/253/108

              Hi,
              PL500 is before PC542, so 19.45V

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                  by PantherDave
                  Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                  Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

                  Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                  by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Alienware m15 R5 Ryzen No Power
                  by Green Probe
Hello, I have an Alienware m15 R5 Ryzen, P109f002, with motherboard GDL56 LA-K453P Rev:1.0, Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX 3070. I got it due to it having liquid damage. I am quite new to chip-level repair, and this is my second post, so please be kind with my incompetence. The charging IC is an ISL95522ah in HPB mode as far as I'm aware. I've been using a schematic for a LA-K455PR10_0525A that is available in the forum, and it seems to match for the most part. If it's okay I can link the schematic, or insert the pertinent page into my post.

It had some crusty areas that I've cleaned up....
