    MacBook pro, AGND

I am not sure if this has been asked before but, I will appreciate everyone's help from everyone here

Macbook schematics show gnd and agnd
Upon checking ohm reading from agnd to a screw hole it is connected

One of the cap pads goes to agnd that is ripped, so i was thinking to scrape where the agnd pad and make a ground pad

If I were to connect this cap that goes to agnd to the scraped pad, gnd
    what would happen?

But why does the schematic show two grounds but practically they are going to the same place?

    Thanks all

One will be a digital ground while the other is an analog ground. Granted, they are both ground (well behaved ? - small joke); they are different in the following sense:

      Hi
Thanks for your reply to the post
I understand there are two grounds, Analogue and digital
As both grounds are going to the same point would be ok to scrape copper and connect the SMD cap to this ground but this would not be AGND but normal GND

      Thanks all

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock

              Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
              by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
              • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
                • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
              • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
                • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
              • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)
                • This
              ...

              A2941 Macbook air 15” - 5V 0a
              by obelix24
I’m working on one macbook air 15” m2 that was water damaged.

keyboard, lcd, microphone connectors were damaged so i’ve replaced all of them and without screen connected macbook worked fine. Keyboard &trackpad and also lid sensor was working fine.

i’ve put macbook in shelf and order new screen so i can fully repair it.

Now i got the screen and macbook stays at 5v 0a.

i’ve tried if it’s not in DFU with another macbook but it’s not detected at all.

i don’t have schematics so i don’t know where to start can someone help me?...

A1706 Macbook Pro PPBUS_G3H Shorts to ground when charger connected
              by zeroalpha
A1706 with some liquid damage. I've cleaned it but PPBUS_G3H will short to ground when its connected to the charger.

Watch a short clip of whats happening here:

              https://youtu.be/HcegjB4fWVM

Is there a problem with PPBUS_G3H and what should I look for?
