    Need assistance : lenovo y530 with broken charging port

    Hi need assistance with y530 and a broken charging port.
    The charging port is destroyed and ADAPTER_ID is shorted thru EC.
    Question is : do i need to reprogram the EC after replacing it? also diode is burned out (Component pd203), needs to be replaced too ?

      Yes it needs reprogramming. They are sold programmed also, include the mainboard code in search and will find in ebay. Price is higher.
      As for PD203 - of course it needs replacing. You have the schematic so no problem finding the correct part.

          thankyou for information, one more question, do i need to reprogram the bios too or no?

                  Hi! I have a Lenovo Legion Y530 laptop that has started having problems when it's being charged. Sometimes, when I plug in the charger, it completely shuts down and I can't turn it on (as long as the charger is still plugged in), not even the LEDs light up. If I unplug it, it starts up normally. To get it back to normal, I have to leave it off for 20 minutes and then try to charge it again. At the moment, I don't have another charger to see if it is the cause of the issue.

                  I tried to discharge the residual power, I removed its battery and the BIOS battery, but unfortunately, it didn't...

                  Hi folks. As the title says, I was doing a port replacement on a Lenovo Thinkpad T480s and in the process of post-solder cleaning, I somehow knocked off 2 or 3 diodes (i think they are diodes) near the main usb-c. I can't seem to find what kind of a diode is that. I know it's ultra tiny and just has a letter "G" on it. Would someone maybe have a proper schematic for the t480s model? I can only find the non-s one and it's quite different to the "s". Would love to figure out what component that is.

                  The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

                  Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

                  This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
                  Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
                  If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

                  Lenovo C740-15iml no post, I do get 20V on charging port

                  Laptop is totally dead, no charging light. I do get 20V on charging port. I am not detecting any shorts but PU601 is extremely hot to the touch. Nothing else is hot around it. Every pin is showing 0V except pin 5 is showing 1.4V. In diode mode I probed all pins on the chip and they are showing 0.4V drop which is good. So, I am a little confused since I do not have much experience.

                  Is it safe to say the chip is toast and it's the culprit? I am a newbie when it comes to working with motherboards at this level. Is it possible that another component causing the chip to overheat?...

                  I sent my ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED (H7600, 12th Gen Intel) to the local repair guys to have a very simple DC in port replaced. I sourced the part myself on accessoires-asus (french company) after struggling to find the right part in the UK. It looked completely the same to the installed part from what I can tell. Originally the only issue with the laptop was a bad / loose DC connection, and so the computer and battery acted completely normal aside from a very poor connection that would fail at certain angles.
