HP Zbook 15 G2 laptop won't turn off completely

Hi everyone, I have a HP Zbook 15 G2 with some issue, it won't turn off completely. Once you turn it off by OS or Manually, the screen goes off, but the fan goes crazy at full RPM and it don't stop until the battery is drained. It is not a OS issue, the laptop does not turn off with or without OS. May be a thermal issue?

Motherboard:LA-B381P with latest BIOS version, OS works normally, no faulty devices found on HP diags.
It has new thermal compound and clean fans.
Found no burned components on visual inspection.
Holding the power button does not work, it keeps blowing air.

Please help, I already have the schematics and the tools to do a rework.

    Best regards

Power down and remove the wifi module and test again.

      Thank you mon2 ,
I removed the wifi module, same issue; once you plugged in the Battery charger, it starts to blow air, if you turn it on, the fan works normally until you turn off the book and then goes crazy again

Do you get the crazy fan spin if running from battery only ?

What is the voltage of pin # 2 (TACH_FAN_IN) on JFAN1 connector when the fan is normal speed ?

What is the voltage of this pin when the fan is in crazy spin mode ?

The fan speed is decided by the SMC @ U17. This component sends out the stream (pin 121) of the PWM signal to speed up or slow down the fan.

ACH_FAN_IN 3.3v, zbook turned on with no fan movement, it starts to spin seconds later
              ACH_FAN_IN 1.72v, in normal speed
ACH_FAN_IN 1.72v, fan at full speed (zbook powered off)

This happens 'coz your VS lines are not not switched off even after turning off from windows. Check your dc-dc converter for 3V/5V VS .(U45/U46)

MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX (MS-16R6) LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON AFTER RESTARTING
                      by RdeveLabs
                      To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...

Asus ROG Strix 17 (G733ZX) Laptop Power Issue
                      by klopez0017
I've had the laptop for about 2 years now, and lately, it has been acting weird whenever the AC adapter is plugged in. The issue is that when the AC adapter is connected, the charging often gets disconnected. This frequent connection and disconnection interrupts whatever activity I am doing, as it causes the laptop to underclock. At one point, the laptop even stopped charging with the AC adapter plugged in.

When I try to use the PD in one of the USB-C ports, it charges just fine. The only downside is that I can only get about 100W of power since that's the maximum it can take, so...

Lenovo laptop does not turn on, what does this number mean in a BIOS chip?
                      by thxd43
Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.

                      I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.

The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a...
