    MSI GT60, GTX880M at fault ?

    Hello all,

I'm looking for some ideas on how to fix my laptop's graphic card.

It's an MSI GT60 Dominator, got it new in 2014 (or 15), served me well for gaming, and 3 years ago it went bezerk.

    Here are the symptoms:
    _cooling fan full speed
_orange led on ( it's white when the I7 integrated gpu is on)
_had a hard time having it detected by Win8.1 ( after it failed i installed linux and used it with LinuxCNC for a cnc plasma cutter)
_re-installed Win8.1 (original disk came with the laptop)
_Nvidia GTX880M shows as "basic video card" and of course ERROR 43

    trouble shooting phase:
_GPU-Z > card shows up, but no details except basic things, and no BIOS version either
_modded Nvidia Inf file to have it recognise my card and isntalled the drivers
__BIOS update, failed with message " GPU not found"

So i guess there is a hardware problem, i might take the card out (MXM connector) and try looking for anything unusual (VRMs for GDDR GPU.

Has anyone encountered the same problem or has experience with MXM cards ?

Ok, so i managed to find ver 367.381 but my card is not recognised......maybe need ver 400.184 or it's only detecting the integrated gpu instead of the GTX880M.
