why dont u inject? with 10A 1V u see hotspot on CPU if it is dead. or u find bad capacitor. but i have two of them with bad cpu

No you don't inject voltage, you check for a shorted high-side MOSFET…

Use a knife tip on your soldering iron and put some solder on all pins of mosfets first and then try removing it with a lot of good bga quality flux applied.

Multilayer pcbs like this one will have lots of heavy copper. This will make parts removal and soldering difficult. Do consider to buy an underside preheater to help. We recently bought the Hakko preheater unit but many on the market and clones on AliExpress.

check all mosfet on cpu side by probing in diode mode drain-source and drain-gate and source-gate values. generally a shorted mosfet give low resistance on source-gate.

                                  Hello:

I have both these laptops that appeared to have the same fault so I thought I would have a go at replacing the PCH as something to learn, they both are using the same PCH.

                                  I started on the ACER:

Up on connecting power no signs of life but current is consumed from the bench power supply and the PCH is hot.
All the caps on the top of the PCH are showing 0 ohms and the 3.3v rail is shorted.

I followed the videos from Sorin, Electronics Repair School on Youtube heating from the bottom to install. I practised on around 10 scrap...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?

My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

                                  Hello,

                                  This is my problem:

                                  Laptop: Dell Latitude 5501
                                  Motherboard: EDC51 LA-H181P

I have two power rails shorted to ground, +1.0V_PRIM and +3.3V_ALW_PCH. I removed solder on PJP302, +1.05VALWP (pad1) not shorted but +1.0V_PRIM (pad2) shorted.

                                  I also cleaned PJP38, pad1 not shorted, pad2 (+3.3V_ALW_PCH) shorted to ground.

I measure the resistance of all the coils on the motherboard and they all were not shorted to ground except coil PL301 before I removed the solder on PJP302.

                                  I injected +1.05V - 2A...

                                  Hello,

                                  I have water damaged Dell G3 3779.

Things I did. During visual inspection i noticed PL911 filter was blown up and caps around it PC901, PC902 .. all up to PU901 shorted, found culprit shorted cap on top side of board PC905, removed cap and short up to PU901 is gone. Shorted PJP901 to bypass filter for the moment.

problem is CPU and GPU vcore coils are all shorted aswell and I don't know where can I safely inject power to test which component or driver is bad.

                                  PLA01 20.8 Ohm PLI01 3.8 Ohm, PLI02 3.8 Ohm, PLI03 3.8 Ohm, PLI04 3.8 Ohm...

                                  Good morning, colleagues.
                                  I'm looking for the schematic or boardview for a Dell Alienware M16 R1 AMD (Infinity A+N MB1 213199-1 Y5J11$CA).
I would really appreciate it if someone could share it.

My main issue is that the backlight is not working. I found fuse F5503 to be blown; I replaced it, but it blows again (goes into protection).
It's worth noting that there's no short on the fuse line, so any guidance or similar experience would be greatly appreciated.
