Re: Fuses in Macbook Pro 2019 A2159

Thanks, I will be happy for any help here.

Could this fault be caused by connecting a display from A1706 (Mac 2017 Pro 13)? My issue started after testing such display, I switched this A2159 on twice with a (faulty) display from A1706, which made me go after the fuses initially.

If reflashing the BIOS is an option, can this be done with a standard i2c programmer such as a plain one I used once with success on a Thinkpad BIOS?

      MacBook Pro 2019 A2159 (2-port) wont boot
      by Eniaro
      Trackpad clicks.

Plugging in a genuine USB-C charger and any other charger = 20V and charges all the way.

Plugging in a Dell USB-C dock or monitor causes the voltage to cycle endlessly between 5V and 19V

The Caps Lock button doesn't illuminate.

Holding the power button (fingerprint scanner) for 10 seconds stops the trackpad clicking temporarily, but it starts clicking again after 3 seconds.

If I open the lid slightly, the trackpad stops clicking (it seems to be detecting the lid opening/closing).

      The keyboard backlight...

MacBook Pro 2019 A2159 Replacing SSD does it need programming?
      by kuba2102
Hi. I suspect the SSD has failed on this machine. I couldn't find answers googling it hence my question. Can you just take and replace SSD from another mac 2019 or it need to be programmed with serial numbers etc? Also eg. if my macbook is 128GB and using only one slot/bank for the SSD and another slot/bank is not being used (empty), can you remove the SSD from slot 1 and put it into slot 2, would it work? I know for a fact that those SSD are set in RAID partitions so if arranged in wrong order it's not going to work, but I'm curious if it needs programming also if the SSD can be soldered onto...
