To all the MacBook BGA Reball repair doctors... expert question

My Macbook 1707 PMIC got hot. Removed the chip and the fifth pad from the bottom left (PP5V_S4) was burned. After carefully scraping the pad to expose some copper it shows a 0.3 ohm short. I know this is a complex issue but what is the best way to deal with this? Where is the trace to this pad is also not clear. Is it fair to assume we need to scrape away the ground plane around this pad? If so, which layer is ground: is it top or second layer?. If it's not the best way to deal with this, what do you recommend ?

    Thanks for your guidance.

Attach schematic and boardview. From your picture, it seems the trace to the mentioned pad is gone. Can you confirm same?

It can be another component on PP5V_S4 that is shorted to ground and not necessarily the trace contacting ground. Do not scrape away layers blindly.

Hi Spider, here are the files. The trace seems intact (assuming it's the angled trace to the bottom left of the pad. Given it's a .3ohms short on the pad I think the short is there, not sure. Could always reinstall the pmic and inject voltage...

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock
        by envym
        Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
        by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
        • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
          • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
        • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
          • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
        • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
        by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
        cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...
