Re: no backlight asus x55ld
More clues will be helpful.
1) Correct model # is Asus X555LD ?
2) When on battery, does the laptop boot ? Can you see the graphics with the HDMI port & external monitor ?
Or is the fault that the laptop does not work at all on battery ?
3) When on battery, what are the results of the flashlight test ?Comment

by user546087Hi,
I have a new Asus Zenbook S16, Model UM5606. Unfortunately, the keyboard backlight is too bright, even on the lowest setting. I have explored several ways now:
- kindly ask Asus for an adjustment - they basically told me to STFU and get lost
It is not possible, they say. Of course.
- tint the keycaps from behind - I have already tried that - it is kind of a last resort
- try to find out, how it is done, look at schematics - this is, where we are at.
- maybe get the BIOS modified somehow? This would be the best option but I do not know a lot about...02-24-2025, 02:03 AM -
by FallenOne008Hi everyone, hope all is well. I have run into a problem where my backlight screen is no longer working.
The original screen was beginning to show signs of faultiness. I believe it was part of the inverter board that was going bad. The backlight for the screen was still functional at this point. Well one night as I was tinkering with the laptop, my idiot self forgot to disconnect the battery from the motherboard. I attempted to reconnect the EDP cable onto the motherboard, and as you might guess, I saw a nice spark from the cable and the port. Don't worry, I'm still kicking myself... -
Asus Strix G513QR-HF016
Motherboard: G533-MP-GBM, 6050A3250202-MB-A01
The motherboard powers on, the Strix logo appears, then only the backlight stays on — it does not enter the BIOS and hangs at that stage.
The laptop arrived with a broken screen and a damaged display cable.
Actions performed:- New BIOS dumps have been flashed
- A new Ryzen 7 CPU was soldered in (tested with two different units), but the issue remains the same with both
- Tested with a different display cable and screen
- No missing components or visible damage on the motherboard; no components
