Asus X415ea Adding a Keyboard with Backlight

Hello my friends i hope you can help me, i have just replace a keyboard with non backlight on a Asus X415 Laptop and i already install a Keyboard with backlight, the motherboard has the conector and ic's to control the light but i doens't work, i already try with a new installation of Windows and it's the same and injecting 3v/5v to the backlight flex it turns on the light, i think must be disable on Bios or need a jumper configuration.

I hope you can give me some help

See attached - in the posted pic, the BL cable is not attached. Be sure it is and firmly seated inside this connector.

Remove all power. Review the mosfet that is between the BL and the TP connector. This mosfet is @ Q3101 and should enable for the backlight through the motherboard. If you are injecting the power directly at the BL connector then the same mosfet does not matter since the backlight LEDs are on the keyboard assembly.

Q3101 N-channel mosfet datasheet is attached. Pins # 2 & # 5 are the gates for these dual mosfets. They are being driven in parallel by the same signal (PWM) from the EC. It is the EC that must offer the signal that will define the intensity of the keyboard's backlight.

With care(!!!!), try to measure the voltage to ground of either pin # 2 or # 5 on this very tiny dual mosfet @ Q3101. Be sure your meter probes are sharp enough to perform the test. We are wanting to check the voltage on the gate pin(s). The same signal goes to pin # 32 (corner pin) of the large EC controller @ U3001. Same rules apply, sharp needle probes + steady hand if you wish to check this voltage.

Hello mon2 thank you for your help, I am gonna check that voltage and post the result, I also note that in this model when you press f7 it should appear an icon on screen showing that the keyboard`s backlight is on and the icon does not shows, in the other keys like f10 for enabling the camera its showing the icon, so i keep thinking that the software of Asus Hoykeys reads some information of bios that indicate that this model has no kb backlight and disables the functionability, but unafortudely i has no other bios of one model that has originaly with keyboard`s backlight.

I don`t know if it will work or not but you can try to add backlight functionality with the Asus Block Transmit tool . https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...24#post1622424

If all voltage is ok (no hardware issue) then try with bt.exe and usb pen with dos inside

Hello my friends, i have some news, i really apreciate your help, i already try with bt and btw but it gives and error in both Windows and Msdos, but i found in Asus Official Website a Tool, is call ASUS System Mainboard Configuration Tool, this tool bridges to Asus Self Replacement Solution Website, you have to sign in and register the laptop SN and it is gonna show a six caracters code, you put it on the Tool and it will let you configure if the Keyboard has Backlight and that is the solution.

bt.exe returns an error because the command must follow a specific syntax. However, if there is an official solution, that's better
