Thank you for the quick reply! I went back and did some more poking around to see what I could find out. I plugged the motherboard into power and tested voltage on the pins mentioned. It seemed to me that they are reading at 19V from what I can tell.

I did a little more continuity tests and think I might have found something interesting. In the picture attached to this post, the component labeled 1 in the image seems to not be measuring continuity in some cases. Probing both sides gives no reading. Hi everyone, hope all is well. I have run into a problem where my backlight screen is no longer working.

The original screen was beginning to show signs of faultiness. I believe it was part of the inverter board that was going bad. The backlight for the screen was still functional at this point. Well one night as I was tinkering with the laptop, my idiot self forgot to disconnect the battery from the motherboard. I attempted to reconnect the EDP cable onto the motherboard, and as you might guess, I saw a nice spark from the cable and the port. Don't worry, I'm still kicking myself...
