Hi all, you have a solution, information on jumpers to disable the discrete on A1398 820-00426-a.

Should work the same as 820-3332.

Re: A1398 emc2673 820-00426-a disable the discrete
Hello everyone. Initially it turned on, there was a gong, there was no image. I found two solutions to disable the discrete card and transfer to UMA, tried both, now: there is a gong, there is a backlight, there is no image. Was guided by the solution and the diagram from A1398 820-3332 in brackets,
signals LCD_MUX_SEL LCD_MUX_EN put on GND, L9330 L9410 (L8960 L8930) turned off, and applied 3.3v to LCD_BKLT_EN and LCD_PWR_EN.

Disconnected discrete on these devices. There GMUX is not alone, there is one mikruha that controls everything and the other is just an analog switch! What did you change? I would remove the U9600 microcircuit, then I would turn on the matrix power, the backlight resolution, and so on with five wires. Namely, LCD_MUX_EN -3.3v, LCD_PWR - selection from the built-in, LCD_BKL_EN-selection from the built-in, LCD_MUX_SEL- GND, well, supply 3.3 volts to the PWM backlight, and you turn off the discrete, even the power will not go to it. If the working processor and analog commutator, then you will immediately receive an image on the built-in Intel, if there is no image, check the analog commutator. Sometimes there is an apple and after loading it hangs. In general, I have often come across dependencies on these platforms immediately after loading. The described method immediately cuts off everything except the processor, if problems remain, then we look at the power supply of the processor, and then the percent itself.
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong or it doesn't make sense Thank youLast edited by skynet85; 07-01-2021, 01:58 AM.Comment

by dezmizHello!
I'm trying to permanently disable the dGPU (NVidia GT 750M) in my late-2013 MacBook Pro Retina (A1398 820-3787-A). I can get the system to boot up using the nvram variable "fa4ce28d-b62f-4c99-9cc3-6815686e30f9:gpu-power-prefs=%01%00%00%00", and can prevent the OS from switching to the dGPU via a handful of different methods (e.g. via OpenCore + WhatEverGreen or spoofing the device properties), but the discrete chip seems to stay powered up and cause the machine to overheat. I'm hoping to accomplish something similar to this hardware modification for a 2011 MBP:... -
by RotVikHello everyone, ASUS FX505GT, dedicated GPU is shorted dead, I would like to disable it completely to activate only integrated CPU graphics.
Any ideas? I was thinking to start by removing L8700 and L8701 so +NVVDD wont power the GPU, and maybe editing BIOS to disable it and also eliminate the possibility of fans going full speed and that kind of weird behavior.
Is this possible? Any help would be great!

by brotankI quiet struggling with board lenovo c681 to disable 4gb samsung onboard ram because they're faulty, I followed the instruction on the schematic to disable them with resistor codes but still not detecting the ram on the slot.
can someone disable onboard ram from my dumped bios, please 🙏
I tried the other bios on this forum with disabled onboard ram, but no success
my final try is to find someone that can help disable onboard ram in my dumped bios attached in this post.
after that I officially give up 😂
thanks for awesome jobs 😊...1 Photo-

by Fam787I bought a second hand Mid 2014 A1398 MacBook Pro when I lived in Australia. I'd bought it as a back-up machine because I had a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro, and realising it might one day fail, I wanted a backup machine because I don't like change.
Two weeks after buying MBP2, the seller called me to check if everything was OK with the unit, which I thought was odd. At that stage I might have turned it on a couple of times, but I'd not used it when he'd called. Over the last few years I used the machine seldomly because my original mac has been pretty OK. Every 3-6 months I'd charge it...5 Photos12-27-2024, 05:19 PM - Loading...
