    ASUS FX505GT disable discrete GPU

Hello everyone, ASUS FX505GT, dedicated GPU is shorted dead, I would like to disable it completely to activate only integrated CPU graphics.
Any ideas? I was thinking to start by removing L8700 and L8701 so +NVVDD wont power the GPU, and maybe editing BIOS to disable it and also eliminate the possibility of fans going full speed and that kind of weird behavior.

Is this possible? Any help would be great!

    Thankyou!

Removing the coil powering GPU+VRAM will make it UMA. No need to edit bios.

      Thanks for the reply!

I just did remove L8700 and L8701, I got post and image, laptop goes all the way and boot to Windows, but both fans stay full speed all the time, maybe I need to remove more components?
Not sure, but I may need to disable VRAM also? Not sure what needs to be removed tho, any advise?

      Thanks!

Hello again, I finally got me some time and removed L8900 as you suggested, but both fans go full speed from around 2200 RPM to around 5300 RPM after about 30 seconds, this happens both on BIOS and booting to Windows, BIOS and HWiNFO shows CPU Temps around 46-48 degrees at standby no load.

Any advice? thanks for any help.

I think I might need to remove more components to disable enable signals and such, but have no Idea what to look for, and I was reading you can actually edit BIOS to force the iGPU but again I need some help to do it
I tried fan controlling software from windows with no luck

            Thanks!
