    MacBook Pro 16" 2019 A2141 No Power

    Hello all

    Your favorite BadCaps user here!

I bring to you a repair we just attempted.

Originally it was at 5V (water damage, very significant)

I repaired the computer replaced all the bad caps and a few resistors and now the computer is finally getting to 20V
But the amps were originally going to .28A now they are not even moving pass .11A

So right now we have 20V and .11A into the computer.

I checked PPBUS_G3H and its present. Pulled up power alias 1 and 2 and I am kind of dumbfounded. The voltage is present at CPU HS etc. But what gives? Check G3H rail, present. I repaired a PPBUS_G3H rail that had a pad that was removed terrible but I was able to salvage what was left of it to be able to put a CAP on it so voltage is now there. I am looking to have a point to look at where I am missing.

    Any ideas or clues?

Why not list the power rails?

I am looking at Power Alias page 1 and going down the line

PBUS and High Side is present.
20V is present so PPBUS (aka greenlight is present)

        Also get this Piernov

        3 TB ports gets 20V
One only gets 5.12V . I am assuming this is the culprit that is causing it to not boot

You should watch some Louis Rossmann videos.
          20V is on PPDCIN_G3H.
          PPBUS_G3H should be 12.6V
"Green light" (not present on USB-C machines) would be dependent on PP3V42_G3H (not present on USB-C machines).

Also there are many more power rails than this.

I meant as there is no Greenlight but the 20V is present as in Greenlight visually for the USB C tester if it was a plug in DC. Sorry didn't explain that well.

Figured it out! It was the 5Volt area preventing the computer from booting.
