How should we know that? You didn't Share Infos Like Device Type, Brand, Model, Board Number, etc

It's Just a Job of Research and you give us nothing...

Okay, obviously it was too late for me yersterday. =)
So help me a little bit out, which connector ist that? Unfortunately there are no markings on the board. Otherwise tell me the full marking code of the SIC-IC or share a better pic.

I found a short on ppbus which i will check tomorrow.

Hello all,

next step with this one.
I resoldered the sic532 and had still a short.
Next i took off the sic646 and the short was gone.
Reinstalling gave me a short again.
I gave it a try without the ic and got 20V (before 5V) on my charger and ppbus is present at 12.6V.


I guess the chip (sic646) is internal short or maybe one other part in this area.
My question to you guys:

Could have a short look on the picture and give me a hint wether i am right with the chip or if there is the possibility that one other part could cause the short when the ic is soldered in?

You are right for this chip

If short gone after removing

First check it by replacing

Chip is dead but high chance of the CPU being dead as well…

because of ppbus passed through this chip directly to cpu,right?

I have a known-good board in front of me, if you need any measurements I can try to do it for you..
