this unit won't power ON when using AC Adapter only but with good battery it will power up. when i reheated the area where the PQ8906/PQ8907 located it power up but for a short period of time only. i tried already replacing BQ24780s charging IC but the status still the same... for now i put back the original BQ24780s...

    Data at BQ24780s:

    Charging IC - BQ24780S

ACDRV Drives the DC-IN Mosfets. The Signal isn't Coming Out and we have to find Out why. What about the DC-IN Mosfets. Did you already Tested them for internal short? Where Stops the Voltage? Check for Short to ground too.

      I did not understand 10, 20,30???

No voltage on CLR point, 19v missing

Prochat is 0 , adapter is bad or insufficient current

Batpress is active but SDA scl 0v

      Pq8907 DC in MOSFETs?

      Share schematic

Replace adapter if laptop start with battery only

      Readings are not normal

sorry, adapter is not an issue... tried adapters with ratings like 19v 3.42a and 19v 9.23a... and sorry i don't have schematics for this unit.. i only use boardview as my guide... so far i can't find any short circuit on this board... data that i wrote here were all what i got with my multimeter readings. right after PQ8906 is 0vdc...

          PQ8907 = 0vdc on any pins.

for 10,20,30 things.. please see attached... i just wrote what i saw on boardview...

          thanks...

BTW, the moment i plug-in the adapter, Power On LED blinks 7times with around 1second interval and it goes off totally...

Re: Asus V555U power On problem

              First try

Hard reset by removing CMOS for 30min and hold down power button for 30 sec

              Second check

              https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1030642/

              Third check DC Jack connector
Adapter is changing but DC Jack cable is same

                thank you for your inputs...

                First:
on this unit i can't find any CMOS BATTERY to disable. and the motherboard been separated from any power source or battery for a month.

                second:
the link given was for router for a rescue or recovery...

                third:
                i'll give it a try..

Re: Asus V555U power On problem

changing DC JACK doesn't solve the problem. but reheating/reflowing all components (mosfets, resistors, capacitors and others) after DC JACK had solved the problem... it been running for 12hrs. and tried already reinstalling OS three times... but one more problem on this unit, NVIDIA 940mx chipset had error code 43. tried already installing NVIDIA drivers via driverpack and from NVIDIA support site.

Did you flashed BIOS via Programmer before Sharing your Case here? I Challenged similar issue causing "wrong" BIOS flashed.
