Laptop Bios Question

Forgive me if this is a silly question but If I have a zbook g6 laptop with a locked bios (password protected) Can I just flash the chip manually with a chip programmer with the latest bios from the manufacturer website, would that remove the password?

You need to check the manufacturer's website for bios update-its likely to be a update file and not full bios. You need to make a new bios from update file and then flash it with any spi bios programmer. Very likely password will be gone. Btw, in some cases the password is not stored in main bios but some dedicated chips or kbc.
