    NEED HELP: difference between +1.0VS5_S2 and 1237LX

    Hi


    I need help to know the difference between LX switching like 1237LX and +1.0VS5_S2, i have attached a picture to make it more clear.

    and +1.0Vs5_S2= +1.5V ?

      People don't necessarily click on all threads all the time (and god knows I already spend way too much time checking new messages every single day here), and it's been only 3 days. You haven't even said what the board is and you just posted a picture of part of the boardview without linking to it (at least the board model number is in the titlebar in the screenshot, but we shouldn't have to spend time looking that up). In the meantime you could have looked up how a buck converter works and you'd have the answer. I hope you will spend as much time as we do in the future to help other people.

      1237LX is connected to high-side MOSFET source and low-side MOSFET drain, it's switching at high frequency between B+ voltage and ground to step down the B+ voltage. After the inductor it becomes +1.0VS5_S2, a smooth 1.0V rail which feeds the PCH core.

        Hi thank you for the reply , yes i forgot to mention here although i have mentioned in other threads it is an HP omen 15 laptop Ax236tx and i am trying my best to self repair it. one more thing , i love to help others asap.
