    K72 questions

Hey ya'll, I'm pretty new and messing around with an old Toshiba Chromebook, cb35-b3340. It has no schematic. It has sever chips marked "K72" and then "R" and "7" written vertically to the right. The image is attached.

I've found that k72 is maybe 2N7002. The chip has 3 pins and after measuring with a caliper, I believe it's package is SOT323. I still don't know the exact part number.

I originally thought it was 2N7002W and ignored the R7 because the data sheet for that chip said it was a date code, but the letter R doesn't match. Does anyone know what that means?

Also, are there other things I should be looking at to make sure i get the right match? Thank you!

Oops, I must have read it wrong before, R does correspond to a month.

      Also, SOT23, not SOT323

Buffer data does not match SPI chip!
        by macmino
Hi all, after several attempt, I finally got a working CH341 Pro working USB device. Now I'm able to read dump the BIOS

When I verify the image (800G6_EC_RCunlocked.BIN found on this forum) I receive "Buffer data does not match SPI chip!". I tried different programmer but the message is the same. Anyway, I removed the password but I see at the boot the HP Message:

        "HP Endpoint Security Controller Problem"

When I hit OK, the boot continues and I'm able to use the computer. Did. the SPI chip not match error caused the error?

Bricked HP Probook 450 G7 Bios questions
        by studdy05
Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

        Ive got...

Questions About USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and USB4 Designs: Type-A vs Type-C, MUX Requirem
        by electronx
        Hi everyone,

I’m currently learning about the USB protocol and designing a project, but I’ve encountered a few questions that I couldn’t find clear answers to. I’d really appreciate your input!

        1. USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 with SuperSpeed Type-A Connector
According to the USB 3.2 specification, it states that USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 can support a SuperSpeed Type-A connector. This raises a question:

If we use a SuperSpeed Type-A connector, the system would only utilize 1 lane for data transfer, leaving 1 lane from the host unused. Is this configuration valid,...

The problem is, that the micom Version doesn't match with the bios version, see picture.
How can i update the Micom Version? The Samsung bios update wont work.
With https://github.com/tavinus/SamsungBIOSTools i could extract the newest bios update...

Need Help Identifying Parts on a crossover and a few other newbie questions
        by UL161
Hi I am trying to refurbish this crossover with some higher quality poly-caps/parts... The speaker is a in-wall Polk 65-RT... Key questions I have are:

        1) What in the world is the yellow part on the board (label is MET 1.0J 100V)?... Should I even consider replacing it?
        2) The 470uF cap.... Does anyone know have a suggestion as to where I can find a reasonable audio quality polycap near that value? (or at least 3 160s or the like?) { I don't want to spend $70 just to replace this one if I can) (maybe even someone looking at this circuit could even tell if this cap is important...
