alternative to RT8231BGQW
Does anyone know of an alternative to RT8231BGQW? Also, is there a good strategy to find close alternates? I've tried searching by the description from the datasheet ("Complete DDR Memory Power Supply Controller"). Thank you!

I figured, but I was tempted to be impatient. Thank you!!

Schematics notation Q
On PR129, is K/F a unit of resistance for small values? Also, what does the "_4" mean? Thank you!!...

Oh, nevermind, I scraped and got to the copper where you highlighted

Hey techtiger, on that pic you posted: do I just need to connect one of them back to the new chip, or does the mass of multiple wires matter? I'm asking because the drain connects to several things in that area. (pic attached)
If not, could I also just connect to the test point I marked?...

Re: Confused about RT8231BGQW pinout
The highside mosft was the one that burned. After removing it, gate and source traces were still shorted, which led me to this chip. This chip had corrosion showing around those pins. I removed it and cleaned it, and wondering if it might still work. I ordered a replacement but it's coming from china. This chip beeps when I have the multimeter set to a continuity test between pins 16 and 17. Does that mean anything? or could it be right or wrong?

Re: Confused about RT8231BGQW pinout
Thank you!
On the detached chip I have, I have continuity between pins 16 (phase) and 17 (ugate). Anyone understand it enough to know if that's incorrect? Those two pins connect to a mosfet that burned up, and I'm wondering if this chip was the cause.

Confused about RT8231BGQW pinout
Hey, I'm looking at a datasheet for RT8231BGQW ( )
and I'm confused about where pin 1 is. The left side pic describes it as a "top view", which I take to mean a view from the top, like a birds eye view, which would make it positioned the same as the right side pics. BUT the left side pic has pin 1 at the top left, and the right set of pics has a dot in the bottom left corner.
I have the chip and I can read the text and see the dot. Is pin 1 on the bottom where I marked the red question mark? Thank you!...

Awsome. Thanks for the direction!! I'll dig in to reading/watching. Do I need to keep the broken pad?

I ripped off the bottom pad of a DFN (pic attached). Is it fixable/best strategy?
My motherboard died and I've been researching for a couple of weeks. I finally got some chips in and ripped off a slightly torn DFN mosfet pad while cleaning the board. Any suggestions on a general strategy to repair/replace it? I have the severed pad if it's possible to reattach. thanks, ya'll!...

K72 questions
Hey ya'll, I'm pretty new and messing around with an old Toshiba Chromebook, cb35-b3340. It has no schematic. It has sever chips marked "K72" and then "R" and "7" written vertically to the right. The image is attached.
I've found that k72 is maybe 2N7002. The chip has 3 pins and after measuring with a caliper, I believe it's package is SOT323. I still don't know the exact part number.
I originally thought it was 2N7002W and ignored the R7 because the data sheet for that chip said it was a date code, but the letter R doesn't match. Does...
