    MOSFETs burned in 19V line

19V is not supplied with whichever IC is removed on the laptop motherboard.
    I made a mistake.
    ISL62771 was burned.
    I took out ISL62771.
I gave 19V, the mosfets burned
Which IC is idle on the motherboard, 19V is not supplied.
Can I request some detail information?

        Thank you.
I had removed ISL62671. When I gave 19 V, the mosfets burned. What is the reason of this?

Re: MOSFETs burned in 19V line

Why do people still randomly inject 19V (and recommend others to do so…) when it's been said many, many times that this can definitely kill your CPU/GPU/PCH if high-side MOSFET is shorted… And if you inject right away 19V at the wrong place you're also sure to burn half the components on the board.

Always measure exact resistance to ground to see if there's a possibility of high-side MOSFET short, and always start with 1V and check if any large BGA is warming up.

EDIT: it's also been said many times that you should never push power into the board with a buck controller/MOSFET driver removed. The MOSFET gates will be floating and get enough charge to randomly turn on and kill something after them.

                    AMEN brother

but if he allready inject 19V it is done.

This sums up discussion related to Lenovo P14s Gen5 in this thread. Credits go to Sbaro and especially Maxpower3. The locked dump is attached.

The device is based on NM-F871 motherboard with Nuvoton NPCK397 series controller. The motherboard also contains three BIOS chips: two different Winbond chips for main BIOS and external EC flash, and also a Gigadevice chip which purpose I do not know. The password information is contained directly in controller and thus can be manipulated by reprogramming it, so reprogramming BIOS chips is technically not required, however you may wish to make...

Hi, I'll start by saying that I'm not an expert and I've reached a point where I don't know what to try/do anymore...
Starting from the beginning: I opened this subwoofer for the first time with a very strong smell of burnt electrical components, I realize that on the amplifier board there is a hole between V+ OUT and GND about the size of a finger, the damaged components were the shorted mosfets, two damaged zener diodes and two capacitors. I bought everything, I fixed the hole by cutting the pcb and putting a piece of a perforated board.
I had no problems connecting mosfets and capacitors,...

Intel D865PERL - no Vcore after replacing MOSFETs and MOSFET drivers
                          by kotel studios
                          Hi,

Finally got time to fix this board up.
At first it didn't give any POST codes. Turns out it was an unsupported Celeron D cpu. After dropping in an Celery 2.6gHz the CPU came out of reset with clock signal, but still no post codes. For a while it did work when I applied pressure to the ADP3168 chip, but on next reboot the MOSFETs started to burn. Then I left it as is for months.

Now I came back prepared. Replaced the bad MOSFETs and the ADPxx18k drivers. Now I don't get any MOSFETs blowing up issues anymore. But sadly, the Vcore is missing. The whole VRM isn't...

                          Hi to all,

I was given this TV, an entry-level 4K 50" set. Some have criticized its lack of contrast and relatively poor colour rendering, but for my needs, it's very decent.

I reset everything to factory settings, but this line keeps on fading in and out when watching a streaming channel from the Tizen firmware. Interestingly, it only happens when TV is warm, after about 1h45 of it being turned on.

Watching a movie from an external source doesn't trigger the line as easily (needs 2 hours), and from a normal viewing distance, is hardly noticeable. It...
